I was really delighted with the reaction to the short feature on mobiography yesterday and the accompanying blog post I did on mobile photography. Thanks to all for the visits, comments and emails.
Two images today from Berlin taken at night. The iPhone image is of a shop front in the Kreuzberg area of Berlin. A very simple photograph. I was attracted to the colours, light and the way the two pullovers remained so still.

Two posts in one day! What am I doing?
Yesterday, I posted this image to Flickr and got a great response. Thanks to all. But the image was one I was not sure of whether to post in black and white or in colour. On Facebook, I posted it on colour and asked the question: Is this better in black and white or colour? Colour, came the response. So, today I am posting the colour image (flipping it horizontally) to Flickr.

This iPhone image is taken on a main shopping street in Berlin. I cannot recall its name. I was struck by the design and lights of the building opposite and when I came across this parked van I knew I could use it to frame some shots. Here is one I got with the iPhone. I got more with the DSLR which I will post later.

This year in Taipei I did a little experimenting with panning. A photographic technique I had not tried before. Taipei with its thousands of mopeds and motorbikes was a perfect location to try this out and I managed to get one or two good results.
A few weeks back in Berlin, I tried to get a few of passing cyclists, but seeing as my intention to do this only occurred as I saw the cyclist approach, the result is not as I would have expected. However, the white glow of the wheels was an unexpected, but pleasing result. Photography is fun, and there is nothing funner than standing on the footpath swaying and swerving those hips as you try to get a cyclist in motion as they pass. It is even more fun after a drink! Try it.

This is another I got with that fun app 1-hour photo on the iPhone. I love that app so much. It gives such beautiful tones for black and white images. I love harsh sunlight too.
